Mummy told me today that I'll travel to Mexico tomorrow!! Yaaay, that's awesome!! :) I think I'll spend the whole november there... Afterwards I'll be in Italy in december. I really can't wait to spend christmas time with my host!! :)

Well, mummy suprised me with some tickets for a DFB-Pokal match (German Football Association cup) of my favourite team, BVB Borussia Dortmund 09!! Borussia Dortmund is the german champion this year. Yesterdays rival was the SG Dynamo Dresden. The picture shows me with a ticket and my hosts muffler :)

The game was great!! But the fans of Dynamo Dresden were awful!! They set things on fire, throw quarter sticks and pyrotechnic on the field, took smoke-bombs and stuff like that... Besides there were big fights, many people got hurt.. the police had so much to do that evening!! The game had to get cut off at least 3 times due riot and hooligans... :( I can't understand why hooligans have to destroy everything..
However, the game was great, we sat in the second row and my favourite football player of all time, the lovely Mario Götze, was less than 10 meters away from me!!
That was such a nice suprise of you, mummy!! I really enjoyed it.
This is me at the stadium, the "Signal Iduna Park", during the game:

So, now I'm tired and I have to prepare for the big day tomorrow.
Lots of Love,

Today is the day!!!
Everything is packed, I'm so excited  :D
Sun is shining, skies are blue. A beautiful day for starting my travel to Mexico. I've been on the balcony for the last time for a long time.

Afterwards, I said goodbye to my dearest friends. On one side I'm sad to leave them but then again I'm soo looking forward to something new. I really can't wait!!

Well, it's time to go now.. I've passed the point of no return.
Lots of Love,
Barry xx

Mexico city, Mexico - 14th November 2011

By: heynizajude

Hello mummy!
I'm so happy! Today we got to walk through Mexico city for the first time, it was awesome!
The weather was warm however it was a bit cloudy, Niza says it was better because that way we could walk a lot! also we were lucky there was not many people so we could take a lot of nice pictures!
Today we walked around the centre and it was so much fun

Our day started down in the subway

The latin american tower

A monument that was a gift from Germany!
On the back it says: to the mexican people from the german community, september 17 1921

Right under the latin american tower, Niza says we will get to see the city from the top soon!

One of the streets of the centre

A really nice building

Then we went to the Zócalo (or the main square) we couldn't really see the flag because it was hold like that in signal of respect to the secretary of government that died last week in a helicopter accident

This is Palacio nacional (or the main government offices)

This is the cathedral

El templo mayor (some aztec ruins that are believed to be the centre of the aztec empire) Niza says we can go through the excavations however Mondays all the museums are closed so we will have to do that another time

This is a model of Tenochtitlán (Mexico city in the aztec times)

The statue of the founders, the legend says the aztecs were told by their god to found their city where they saw an eagle over a cactus eating a snake, so this scene is represented in this statue

The portals of one of the buildings next to the Zócalo

Statues of some of the aztec emperors, Nezahualcoyotl, Izcoatl and Totoquihuatzin, that's some hard names!

The MUNAL (national museum of art)

After looking at all this amazing places we sat down for a snack, green tea & doritos :P

And that was all for today, now you can see how exciting everything was! After all the walking we came home to rest and call it a day (:

Mexico city, Mexico - 16th November 2011

By: heynizajude

Hey mummy!
We went around the city again and again it was pretty cool

Today was incredibly hot! so we had to get an slushy to freshen up a little

We went to el Palacio de Bellas Artes (or the palace of the beautiful arts) that is a cultural center built in 1934 and it's pretty nice!

A closer look

On the inside

This place also has murals from awesome painters which are from the mexican muralism art movement
This is an amazing mural made by Diego Rivera

Another by Diego Rivera

This one is from David Alfaro Siqueiros
There are many murals more but we couldn't take lots of pictures because there was a lot of people u_u

One of the fountains outside

Hemiciclo a Juárez, this a monument dedicated to former president Benito Juárez who was important to the history of Mexico

The Alameda central, one of the main streets in the city, you can see on the back the monument to the mexican revolution

When we came home for lunch we found a good surprise, another two toyvoyagers that are also from Germany! they are Sansibar and Lou
Niza lent us her Spanish-German dictionary so we can learn some español, maybe when I come back I can teach you some!

That was all for today, send you hugs & kisses mummy

We got to meet her nephews & niece who absolutely loved us!

and Nathan

he liked us a lot so he took us on a ride in his bike!

and he also wanted to snap some pics of us

We climbed over this pear tree, but all the pears already fell off so we couldn't have one ): only one was left and you can see it in the back

And we played a while in the leaves

Mexico city, Mexico - 23rd November 2011

By: heynizajude

Hi mummy!
Today we went around the city again and here's what we did:

Niza said I already have a picture here but since the weather was better and the fountain water went higher I could have a better pic so here's me at the Alameda central

We passed by the fountain of abundance that is outside of the national lottery building

Since 20 of november is the anniversary of mexican revolution and this sunday it was extra special because it was the 100 anniversary of the ending of it we went to the monument to the mexican revolution!
We were supposed to go up but when we got there Niza realized she forgot her student card so we couldn't go up ): however she promissed friday we will!

Here's the street towards the square of the republic (where the monument is) you can see the mexican flags (:

This is the sculpture of "el caballito" or the little horse which is modern, the side view is better but since they're doing work on the street we couldn't stand there to take pictures

When we arrived home we found another german tv! her name is Entchen

I can't wait for friday!

On the entrance

Right under the elevator that took us up and has a height of 52 meters!

On the elevator!!!

When we reached the very top

One of the amazing views of the city

Another view on a level lower

Group picture!

Another on this telescope

It was pretty fun! and the views were absolutely amazing!

Hi mom (:
Niza apologizes for not making any updates, but this days have been a little bit crazy, anyways on wednesday last week we got to go to Mexico city's museum night!
It was pretty fun!

We started at the MUNAL (national museum of art)

With one of the paintings there

This was part of the promo for the 1986 worldcup in Mexico!

The beautiful staircase

The inside patio of the MUNAL!

There was a Picasso expo!

We also went to "El estanquillo" museum, the ceiling was beautiful!

With this cartoon figurines of former mexican presidents

Sorry about the photo quality but we were not allowed to use flash ): and also we didn't took a lot of photos because we had to get moving fast!

This week also we cooked pasta!!!
Here's us with the empty ingredients, we should take the photo when everything was still there but we forgot

Cooking the pasta

And the sauce...

Ready for the feast!

And we did a little toast with this delicious fruit wine, don't worry I just had a little bit ;)

Well that's all for now, hope you had a nice weekend mom! (:

By: heynizajude

Hey mom!
Niza says she's very sorry of not updating but things are a bit crazy this days around here, unfortunately we found out we will not be able to go to the beach for the holidays ): but Niza says we'll do some fun stuff and sight seeing!
Anyways...last Saturday we went to her cousins wedding, it was so much fun!!

The ceremony was held on a franciscan convent of the XVI century!

On the inside patio of the convent

Along the others on the fountain

The main cross

The convent also has a mini museum with pieces from the ancient cultures that lived here before the spanish conquer!

There were shrunken heads :S

Some necklaces & carved stones

With Lou and some pots & vases

Some excavations

With some stone figures

And then came the party, there were lots of dance & fun and we got to eat lots of sweets! :D including some bride & groom cupcakes!
