Travelog for: Konrad

Hello!
Yesterday, we made Valentines to send out to loved ones. We used construction paper, ribbon, scissors, stickers, glue, and glitter! We got t be very creative, and we had lots of fun.


We also took a trip to my Host's workplace. Everyone was super friendly, and I took a personal tour of the breakroom.


They even have their own personal lockers to use during work!


We had a good time.
My host promised to show me some sites next weekend, because she has the day off. Maybe a sculpture garden? Maybe shopping? I guess we'll wait and see. Bye for now!

Happy Valentine's Day~!

We made these huge hearts to hang up near the front windows.


Then we took a walk around the pond behind my host's house. All the ducks that are usually there have all flown South for the Winter. Brrr! It was chilly!




I found a park bench to sit on!

Hello!
We went to the Mall of America this past weekend. It was SO fun!

It is the largest mall in North America in terms of enclosed floor space. It is 96.4 acres, enough to fit seven Yankee Stadiums inside!!!

We parked in the "Hawaii" section.


They even have their own amusement park inside: Nickelodeon Universe. We stopped there first!


There's Spongebob Squarepants! YAY!


We stopped for lunch at the Rainforest Cafe. It is pretty famous! Konrad and I split an entree and dessert.




Then we visited the new Disney store. It was so magical~!


The store employee asked us not to take too many photos. :/ I guess it's for safety reasons.

We did get to visit the Build-A-Bear Workshop, though! That was fantastic. Everyone can build their own teddy bear there, and pick out clothing for it. Look at all the friends you can choose from:


The clothing was very elaborate. Konrad saw this cool American Flag, so we bought it as a souvenir!


It was a busy, but fun, day. Bye for now!

This morning, we welcomed a new friend into my Host's house. It's Herb! We are becoming good friends already. 



Herb passed along your note to me. I love you, too! I am happy seeing what I can of the world. 



We also took a quick trip to the Post Office before it closed for the day. Just me and my host mom!

Hello!
I have been a very busy little bear. Yesterday, we went into the city of Minneapolis to help set up for the Home and Garden Show. It's a big event that is held every year at the Minneapolis Convention Center. From what I hear, it's a lot of booths with home and garden improvement, decorating, and remodeling products and services.

I helped navigate!


We were careful driving through some construction.


Finally we arrived! We went from the parking ramp up to one of these neat things: it's called a skyway. They are enclosed bridges for walking between buildings downtown. They are especially nice in the Winter, so you don't have to go outside to get around! Here's the inside of the one we passed through.


The views from the windows are great!




We found the right building and it is huge inside!




Then it was time to set up our booth. The  main dome part is where all the booths will be. It will look even better once it's all complete.






We took a walk outside a little bit yesterday, too. There's a Winter storm warning in effect for the next couple of days. The weatherman over here says we'll get about a foot of snow! I can't wait!

Hello!
We saw something spectacular outside when we woke up this morning.

SNOW!

The weatherman says that more snow is on the way. I'm looking forward to building a snowman later!

We spent the last few days moving my host into her very first apartment. Hooray!

Whew! It was hard work lugging all her big moving boxes. We took a break to play outside. It was a beautiful and sunny day!





I even made a little snowman!

Today was my last day with my Host mom and family. I'm excited to visit someplace new! I had a great time here, but it is time to move on. New places to see, and new people to meet!

Herb the Hepp and I played some games. He's good at cards.


We told each other all about our travels over a nice cup of tea.


And then we said goodbye.

Hello there!

I have made it to Orem, Utah, which is a city just 45 minutes south of Salt Lake City, where the 2002 Olympics were held.  It was a short trip from Texas, and when I arrived in my envelope, Peculiar and crashtestrider were there to greet me!





Since it was Friday night, crashtestrider and her family were enjoying their tradition of pizza, root beer, and a movie.  I was offered some, but was pretty full from my last meal and so I decided to just kick back with a can of root beer and unwind. 



I was told that I had arrived just in time for a trip to the zoo tomorrow- I am so excited!!  Do you think they will have any bears there?  I hope so. 



Well, it's late and I'm exhausted so I think I'm going to retire to my new bed!  It looks a little small, but crashtestrider says she will be on the lookout for one that is a little more my size.

Wow!  We sure had a busy day!  We started bright and early in the morning on our way to Hogle Zoo, which is in Salt Lake City.  I got to ride up front in the car with Peculiar and a non-TV friend named Carrots.



Here we are!  There is a great fountain at the entrance with a statue of a cougar. 



We saw so many animals!  Like a mother and baby elephant...



...giraffes...



...tigers...



...and peacocks!



I am sorry that some of the animals in the photos are blurry.  It was very busy that day at the zoo, and so I had to be quick when I posed!

Can you believe that this zoo did not have any bears?!  I was so surprised and disappointed.  Too bad the polar bear exhibit will not open until next month.  Oh, well.  It was still a very fun day!
