Gross Duengen, Germany - 17th April 2017

By: RikeH

Hello Mum, hello Dad,

Today we visited Murph and his friends. We were so happy! Dicker Kumpel had a present for Murph!

http://i1201.photobucket.com/albums/bb347/HoBi666/Badse%20April%202017/IMG_7927_zpsr0dnvynf.jpg

Murph called us! What an exciting object! We had to wait for the darkness.

http://i1201.photobucket.com/albums/bb347/HoBi666/Badse%20April%202017/IMG_7931_zpsbslcsj7m.jpg

We spent this time with talking and eating Easter eggs.

http://i1201.photobucket.com/albums/bb347/HoBi666/Badse%20April%202017/IMG_7933_zpsjfp8cnyk.jpg

It was still too light.

http://i1201.photobucket.com/albums/bb347/HoBi666/Badse%20April%202017/IMG_7939_zpsej1zengt.jpg

It became better.

http://i1201.photobucket.com/albums/bb347/HoBi666/Badse%20April%202017/IMG_7940_zps7kczau86.jpg

What a wonderful sphere!

http://i1201.photobucket.com/albums/bb347/HoBi666/Badse%20April%202017/IMG_7930_zpsvrgjyxub.jpg

The next day we had to say good-bye.

Springe, Germany - 18th April 2017

By: RikeH

Hello Mum and Dad,

We were in the Wisentgehege in Springe. Wisents and other animals live here. We started with the birds.

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/2017/April-0034.jpg

Wow, they looked great!

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/2017/April-0035.jpg

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/2017/April-0040.jpg

Then I found the wisents.

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/2017/April-0042.jpg

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/2017/April-0048.jpg

What a nice house – I would love to live in it.

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/2017/April-0045.jpg

We were very close to these deer.

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/2017/April-0052.jpg

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/2017/April-0053.jpg

The other family was far away!

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/2017/April-0058.jpg

Look – little pigs.

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/2017/April-0059.jpg

Do you know these animals? Sure – raccoons.

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/2017/April-0064.jpg

The wild horses were in a strange mood.

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/2017/April-0068.jpg

It was a nice day here!

This is a strange house here.

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/2017/April-0074.jpg

It is called Zuckerhut – just like the street, where I live at the moment.

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/2017/April-0075.jpg

Look, the St. Michaelis church.

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/2017/April-0080.jpg

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/2017/April-0081.jpg

We went inside.

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/2017/April-0092.jpg

What a beautiful ceiling.

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/2017/April-0087.jpg

Near to the church there was this strange statue.

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/2017/April-0106.jpg

There was a beautiful garden next to it.

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/2017/April-0112.jpg

Behind me you see the famous rose of Hildesheim.

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/2017/April-0115.jpg

It was nice here.

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/2017/April-0116.jpg

What a funny person – sitting on another man.

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/2017/April-0124.jpg

We arrived at the marketplace – with so many beautiful buildings.

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/2017/April-0125.jpg

Jersbek, Germany - 30th April 2017

By: RikeH

Hello Mum and Dad,

I went to a place called Jersbek. Behind me you see an Eiskeller. People stored things in it, to keep it cold – in the Past.

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/2017/April-0201.jpg

This was really interesting.

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/2017/April-0204.jpg

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/2017/April-0207.jpg

Then I went to a nice park – this was the place in front of it.

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/2017/April-0211.jpg

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/2017/April-0212.jpg

I learnt a lot about the park here.

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/2017/April-0217.jpg

There were beautiful trees behind me. They are called the 12 apostles.

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/2017/April-0220.jpg

Spring starts now here.

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/2017/April-0222.jpg

The park belongs to this small castle.

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/2017/April-0226.jpg

What a nice alley.

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/2017/April-0228.jpg

Look – an obelisk.

Hamburg, Germany - 17th May 2017

By: RikeH

Hello Mum and Dad,

Can you imagine, where I am? Right – it's the Port of Hamburg.

https://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/2017/Mai-0038.jpg

And I saw the Elbphilharmonie of Hamburg in the distance.

https://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/2017/Mai-0039.jpg

This is the River Elbe.

https://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/2017/Mai-0042.jpg

And the Landungsbrücken.

https://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/2017/Mai-0044.jpg

Last views in two directions.

Bornholm, Denmark - 21st May 2017

By: RikeH

Hallo Mum and Dad,

I am on the Bornholm Island. Today I went onto the beach near to our holiday house.  The crossing looks good.

https://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009//2017/Bornh-0002.jpg

And the beach was beautiful!

https://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009//2017/Bornh-0008.jpg

https://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009//2017/Bornh-0009.jpg

https://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009//2017/Bornh-0010.jpg

Surely I will come back and walk along the Baltic Sea.

https://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009//2017/Bornh-0020.jpg

But today we wanted to go to Dueodde and see the lighthouse there.

https://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009//2017/Bornh-0024.jpg

Next to it I climbed onto a dune and had a great view.

https://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009//2017/Bornh-0025.jpg

https://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009//2017/Bornh-0026.jpg

Then we walked to the beach – it looked similar to the first one.

https://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009//2017/Bornh-0035.jpg

Far behind me you can see the lighthouse.

https://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009//2017/Bornh-0043.jpg

I saw the sunlight on the water.

https://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009//2017/Bornh-0044.jpg

We liked it here.

https://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009//2017/Bornh-0045.jpg

Then we arrived at an exciting place.

https://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009//2017/Bornh-0051.jpg

Maybe you cannot see it on the sign. Then 55th Northern latitude and the 15th Eastern longitude meet here.

https://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009//2017/Bornh-0049.jpg

At the end we found a beautiful water mill – without water today.

Olsker, Denmark - 22nd May 2017

By: RikeH

Hello, can you see me in the red plant?

https://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009//2017/Bornh-0062.jpg

There are 4 Round Churches on Bornholm – this is the Sankt Ols Kirke.

https://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009//2017/Bornh-0066.jpg

It was exciting. We climbed up these stairs.

https://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009//2017/Bornh-0068.jpg

https://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009//2017/Bornh-0069.jpg

Later it became steeper, very – and dark.

https://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009//2017/Bornh-0071.jpg

This is the altar.

https://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009//2017/Bornh-0076.jpg

I liked the painting on the ceiling.

https://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009//2017/Bornh-0080.jpg

The church and the bell tower looked so beautiful!

Hammershus, Denmark - 22nd May 2017

By: RikeH

Hello Mum and Dad,

The fortress Hammerhus looked great – it is only a ruin now, but worth a visit.

https://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009//2017/Bornh-0089.jpg

We had a nice view from this point.

https://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009//2017/Bornh-0094.jpg

The fortress was really big, I think. You still can see it today.

https://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009//2017/Bornh-0097.jpg

It looks great over there. I will have a closer look.

https://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009//2017/Bornh-0102.jpg

Really beautiful.

https://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009//2017/Bornh-0105.jpg

This was my famous view of the fortress.

Sandvig, Denmark - 22nd May 2017

By: RikeH

Hello Mum and Dad,

This is the Port of  Sandvig

https://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009//2017/Bornh-0118.jpg

You can see two big hotels next to it.

https://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009//2017/Bornh-0119.jpg

We drove to Madsebakke. There were nice scratichings in the rock. You can see a ship here.

https://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009//2017/Bornh-0121.jpg

A better view here – it is a ship out of the Bronze Age.

https://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009//2017/Bornh-0126.jpg

I have no idea, where these circles stand for.

https://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009//2017/Bornh-0127.jpg

On the way home we stopped at the cliffs Helligdomsklipperne.

https://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009//2017/Bornh-0135.jpg

https://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009//2017/Bornh-0138.jpg

It was very steep here.

Bornholm Middelaldercenter, Denmark - 23rd May 2017

By: RikeH

Hello Mum and Dad,

Today we travelled back in the medieval times. This was the house of the guilds.

https://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009//2017/Bornh-0151.jpg

The craftsmen met here in the Past.

https://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009//2017/Bornh-0153.jpg

But we found a nice cradle for us.

https://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009//2017/Bornh-0154.jpg

Next to it was the smithy.

https://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009//2017/Bornh-0157.jpg

https://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009//2017/Bornh-0159.jpg

We arrived at the best part of the village – I saw a big palisade.

https://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009//2017/Bornh-0162.jpg

https://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009//2017/Bornh-0166.jpg

This was the kitchen.

https://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009//2017/Bornh-0168.jpg

https://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009//2017/Bornh-0170.jpg

https://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009//2017/Bornh-0175.jpg

Then I went to the wonderful manor on the left side of the photo.

https://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009//2017/Bornh-0177.jpg

The paintings were interesting – and colorful.

https://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009//2017/Bornh-0181.jpg

I loved the bedroom.

https://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009//2017/Bornh-0182.jpg

Can you see the Tower behind me?

https://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009//2017/Bornh-0184.jpg

We climbed up and had a nice view.

https://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009//2017/Bornh-0186.jpg

On the meadow we found a rune stone.

https://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009//2017/Bornh-0188.jpg

They had water mills in that time.

https://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009//2017/Bornh-0191.jpg

I really loved it here.

Østerlar, Denmark - 23rd May 2017

By: RikeH

Hi Mum and Dad,

Yesterday I saw a round church – today we saw another one in Østerlars.

https://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009//2017/Bornh-0194.jpg

It is famous for its fresco paintings.

https://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009//2017/Bornh-0197.jpg

This was the font – it is as old as the church.

https://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009//2017/Bornh-0200.jpg

The altar.

https://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009//2017/Bornh-0203.jpg

A beautiful church.

https://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009//2017/Bornh-0207.jpg

You won't guess, what you see behind me.

https://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009//2017/Bornh-0209.jpg

It was the famous water tower of Snaneke. It was designed by the famous Danish architect Jörn Utzon – he built the opera of Sydney.

But of course there was a mill here – a wooden one this time.

https://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009//2017/Bornh-0213.jpg

This mill had a good size.

But the original next to it was beautiful, too. And the wings were in motion!

Aakirkeby, Denmark - 24th May 2017

By: RikeH

I was surprised – a church – and it was not round. It was the Aakirke.

https://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009//2017/Bornh-0237.jpg

I liked it inside, too.

https://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009//2017/Bornh-0231.jpg

https://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009//2017/Bornh-0235.jpg

The baptistery was very famous, but for me it looked like a normal one.

https://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009//2017/Bornh-0232.jpg

Then we visited the market place.

https://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009//2017/Bornh-0239.jpg

The geese were very tall.

https://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009//2017/Bornh-0240.jpg

Many houses here on Bornholm are very long.

https://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009//2017/Bornh-0243.jpg

This was the post.

https://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009//2017/Bornh-0244.jpg

Then we drove to Nylars – and visit another round church.

https://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009//2017/Bornh-0255.jpg

This one was smaller and more homely than the others. I loved the freskos and they were so colorful.

https://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009//2017/Bornh-0246.jpg

https://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009//2017/Bornh-0249.jpg

https://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009//2017/Bornh-0250.jpg

Look, a beautiful rune stone!

https://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009//2017/Bornh-0253.jpg

We decided that 3 of the 4 round churches were enough for us. But we really liked it.

https://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009//2017/Bornh-0256.jpg

Time to see red…This is the village Boderne, where the houses are painted in red.

https://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009//2017/Bornh-0259.jpg

https://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009//2017/Bornh-0261.jpg

Even at the port the houses were red.

https://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009//2017/Bornh-0263.jpg

https://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009//2017/Bornh-0265.jpg

Our last stop was at the Østre Sømark Havn. Look at the name of the ship.

https://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009//2017/Bornh-0266.jpg

There were nice long beaches.

https://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009//2017/Bornh-0269.jpg

https://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009//2017/Bornh-0270.jpg

We gazed at the fisher houses.

https://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009//2017/Bornh-0272.jpg

https://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009//2017/Bornh-0276.jpg

People still work here as fishermen.

Almindingen, Denmark - 25th May 2017

By: RikeH

Hello Mum and Dad,

Today we went to Almindingen – it is the fifthbiggest woodland of Denmark. First we went to the Ekkodalen.

https://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009//2017/Bornh-0311.jpg

It was so beautiful here.

https://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009//2017/Bornh-0280.jpg

https://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009//2017/Bornh-0281.jpg

https://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009//2017/Bornh-0287.jpg

https://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009//2017/Bornh-0290.jpg

The path was very steep – so we decided not to walk on it.

https://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009//2017/Bornh-0293.jpg

Then we went to the point, where you here the echo.

https://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009//2017/Bornh-0298.jpg

Next to it was a spring.

https://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009//2017/Bornh-0299.jpg

Then we went to the Gambleborg.

https://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009//2017/Bornh-0311.jpg

The way was long and exhausting – and unfortunately there was not much to find of the old castle.

https://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009//2017/Bornh-0303.jpg

https://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009//2017/Bornh-0306.jpg

https://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009//2017/Bornh-0309.jpg

But back at the carpark we stopped for a delicious licorice ice-cream.

https://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009//2017/Bornh-0313.jpg

We continued to the highest point of Bornholm – Rytterknægten.

https://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009//2017/Bornh-0316.jpg

The view wasn't that great.

https://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009//2017/Bornh-0319.jpg

https://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009//2017/Bornh-0322.jpg

I really preferred the lake not far away – the Borgesoe.

https://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009//2017/Bornh-0326.jpg

It was next to the fortress Lilleborg.

https://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009//2017/Bornh-0328.jpg

https://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009//2017/Bornh-0331.jpg

https://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009//2017/Bornh-0335.jpg

It was nice here.

Slaus Stene, Denmark - 25th May 2017

By: RikeH

Hello Mum and Dad,

We found a great place – called Slaus Stene. A farmer worked as an artist here – this is a self-portrait of him.

https://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009//2017/Bornh-0351.jpg

This was one of his first artworks – a card of Bornholm.

https://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009//2017/Bornh-0340.jpg

We were excited - we visited this fortress at the start of our holiday.

https://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009//2017/Bornh-0342.jpg

I loved this troll.

https://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009//2017/Bornh-0344.jpg

This one was scary.

https://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009//2017/Bornh-0347.jpg

Surely he created a round church. It was so nice here.

https://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009//2017/Bornh-0354.jpg

Later we went to Arnager. The Danish love their flag. You see it everywhere.

https://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009//2017/Bornh-0357.jpg

But we were here for another reason – the longest pier of Denmark.
https://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009//2017/Bornh-0359.jpg

Surely we walked all the 200 meters to the end.

https://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009//2017/Bornh-0363.jpg

The view was beautiful.

https://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009//2017/Bornh-0364.jpg
